Be wary. When you sign up on forums related to promised new Servers with Nost data. Don't use the same email or password. Hopefully you didn't use the same credentials as your retail account. (Some did, I'm pretty sure.)

I tried to sign up on one using different credentials and the activation failed. No response from admins. Could be their authentication system is down. Could be they got some information to try to abscond with my Nost or retail account for evil purposes.

In this thread it says they are taking over Nostralius this weekend.

It appears someone has taken Nostalrius up on their offer. We shall have to wait and see if it gains any real traction though.

Several people are testing other servers to find a new home for whoever wants to join. Im sure there will be more posted by officers when they have anything to report.

Well it would be nice if the Guild leadership were to decide where to move next. I'll gladly go along with you guys. 

 I'm not saying that, i mean they will implement first nostalrius' PVP realm database (players etc) since it has more players than in the PVE one

 What do you mean?  They aren't shutting down the PvE?

I have managed a server doing a merger and the way we handled it was renaming accounts and giving free renames to characters. It wasn't an issue at all.

That would be extremly cool but I really don't know how they will manage to do that you can't just insert a data base into another

some primary keys like account names / characters name / emails etc  won't be primary anymore if someone was already playing with the same name than your char or your acc name or anything.

I don't know how they are planning to do that.

Also we're not playing on Nost main realm, so i don't think nost PVE database is the most important compared to the PVP one

They have defeated — no, rather, killed — Nostalrius.

Although we are a competing server, this wasn't met with glee or joy at all. We're sad and even a bit angry at Blizzard, actually. However, no one can actually destroy Nostalrius' legacy - not any time soon. Neither Valkyrie nor Kronos nor other vanilla WoW servers will back down - we'll keep going on. We're in the business of making Blizzard realize with dismay that the best WoW - the TRUE WoW - was vanilla back in 2006. Vanilla is here to stay, and so are we. Valkyrie-WoW administration sends their condolences to Nostalrius' players and wishes to congratulate Nost's team for a job well done. If Nost's account database goes public, we will be happy to offer free transfer to our server without losing any in-game progress. We're always here to help those who wish to return to World of Warcraft once again.

Lots of things would need to fall into place but this at least gives the opportunity for a complete lateral move instead of starting from scratch.
